This final graduation project at Academie Artemis brought together the themes, materials, and questions that have shaped my practice throughout my years at the academy. Between Spindle and Root is both a physical and emotional translation of what it means to exist as part of a larger interconnected universe.
The project explores textile as a carrier of information — as a language that existed long before written text. Through textile structures, repetitive patterns, and organic forms, I investigate how nature continuously mirrors itself across different scales of existence. Threads, roots, veins, fungi, and woven structures become evidence of an underlying interconnectedness between humans, nature, and matter.
Presented through garments, imagery, and a self-developed zine, the project reflects on tactility, intimacy, and the invisible systems that connect all living forms. It is an exploration of softness, memory, and the way material can communicate beyond words.
